Team Huber Motorsport

PORSCHE 911 GT3 TEAM FROM ALBACHING

Huber Motorsport is based in Albaching in the east of Munich.

However, the Bavarians have found their motorsport home at the Nürburgring with its legendary Nordschleife. In the Eifel region the racing team has been a permanent fixture in the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the former VLN, for over a decade now.

REINHARD HUBER

TEAM PRINCIPAL AND FOUNDER

Team founder Reinhard Huber has celebrated countless successes in national and international touring car and GT races since 1997.

Many years of experience as a driver in cooperation with internationally renowned racing teams finally led to the foundation of his own customer sports racing team in 2008 – that was when Huber Motorsport was born.

The passion quickly turned into success: the team now combines over 20 years of motorsport experience.

TEAM SPIRIT FOR SUCCESS

Consistency and many years of trusted cooperation are the key factors that enable the entire team and its drivers to constantly develop themselves further, seek new challenges and thus become increasingly successful.

Huber Motorsports first racing car in 2008 was a BMW Z4 Coupé. Since 2011 the team has been using Porsche GT3 cars almost exclusively. This decision laid the foundation for sustainable success with the brand’s 911 series.

After winning the VLN title in 2019 with a Porsche GT3 Cup, Huber Motorsport will start in 2020 for the first time in the NLS SP9 class with a Porsche 911 GT3 R, which is a thoroughbred racing car.

In addition to their participation in the NLS/VLN, the Bavarians have so far taken up the challenge of the legendary 24-h race at the Nürburgring four times in 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2019, always achieving top results.

On the international stage

Huber Motorsport is active far beyond the Nordschleife as well. Besides the big German race tracks like Hockenheim and the Nürburgring, the team is also racing on international Grand Prix tracks like Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the Austrian Red Bull Ring,  Spanish Navarra and many more tracks within the Porsche Sports Cup and the Creventic 24h Series.

2019 – On course for success

The year 2019 marks the highlight of the team history so far with the VLN championship victory in the SP7 class. With the purchase of a new, even more powerful Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MK II the team around Reinhard Huber took another decisive step towards professional racing and signed the Swedish professional racing driver Andreas Simonsen for the entire VLN season, alongside the two long-time Huber drivers Lorenzo Rocco di Torrepadula and junior Patrick Kolb. The team established itself at the top of its class right from the start. Already at the 4th run the Bavarians caused a sensation with a stunning 9th place in the overall standings. After an exhausting and challenging season the crowning finale finally followed and Huber Motorsport won the title in the SP7 class.

2020 – Among the “big boys”

After the Albachinger had already indicated last year what else you can expect from them in the future, it is now time to build on the successes for this season and go one step further.
